Why do I need to pick a 'stage type' when I add a new stage to the recruitment process?

The stage type helps the system to know how to process candidates at this stage.

For instance, your Hiring Managers can only see stage types that you have determined e.g. Screening, Screening Decision, Schedule Interview etc.

If you do not pick a stage type when entering a new stage, the system will not know to present such stages to the Hiring Manager.

The stage types are also used as the basis for some of your reports (e.g. Schedule Interview).
